A few things worth knowing. Southampton Airport is the fastest journey and serves Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of Europe, so it is often a better choice than a London airport. London City avoids the M25 completely, making it more predictable on a weekday morning than Gatwick, despite a similar distance. Southend and Stansted are the two longest runs, and both are worth booking with extra time if your flight leaves before 8 am.

On arrival, give us your flight number, and we track it. If you land early or late, your driver adjusts. Journey times above are averages for normal traffic — the M25 can add an hour without warning.

Portsmouth ferry terminals. Sailings to France, Spain and the Channel Islands leave from Portsmouth International Port. Wightlink’s Isle of Wight service runs from Gunwharf Quays, with a crossing to Ryde of around 22 minutes. The terminals are in separate locations, so please give us your operator name and sailing time when you book.

Two things to check before you book.

First, your terminal — Southampton’s five cruise berths and Portsmouth’s several ferry terminals are not interchangeable, and arriving at the wrong one with check-in closing is a missed sailing. Second, your check-in time — ferry check-in typically closes 30 to 60 minutes before departure, and we schedule your pickup around that deadline.

Luggage matters more here than on an airport run. Two weeks at sea means more bags than a weekend flight. Please tell us your case sizes, and we will send a vehicle that actually fits them.
